Some of the earliest memories of my childhood have this house as a backdrop.

This is my grandmother’s place. My grandfather built it with his two sons in the late ‘70s. He was not an architect.

The house was situated in close proximity of Huang Pu River, Shanghai’s mother river. As part of the government's Slum Removal campaign, it was demolished in 2009.
